I’ve lost count. What movie are we up to in this ill-fated franchise…six?
I love a good horror film, but I’m sorry to say you’re not going to find that here.
Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension picks up where the fourth movie (sort of) left off. A couple moves into a house, the husband/father finds a camera that seems to pick up creepy stuff on film, and not long after, the daughter starts exhibiting bizarre behaviour.
This isn’t the worst movie in the series (for me, the third one was so bad, I can’t remember what it’s about because I’ve actually blacked it out of my mind) but it doesn’t help Oren Peli’s brain child.
If you’ve seen anything in the franchise, then you’ve seen this movie. Aside from being able to see the demonic presence through the camera Ryan (Chris J. Murray) finds, you haven’t missed anything if you’re opting to see it.
Cutting to the chase, I strongly recommend skipping this movie. If you’re itching to watch it, The Hollywood Reporter says the movie will be released on digital download once the movie drops to 3oo theatres, so you probably won’t have to wait too long before it comes out. (At the time I wrote this review, it was screening at 1500 theatres; it opened at 1,530 total in North America).
I’m hoping this is a wrap for the franchise. Please. PLEASE.
