The Reel Report is going off-air…kind of

As I like to say: it’s been a slice.

Hey everyone-

I’ve got some mixed news to share.

The Reel Report is no longer going to air on CKNW. We usually took up the 9 AM – 9:30 AM slot on The Jon McComb Show every week, but I’ve just found out that is no longer the case as of today.

It’s been awesome bringing everyone the latest news from the box office each week – in fact, it would have been about two years this coming July. My first show was with Sean Leslie, and I remember being terrified! Almost two years later, and man have things ever changed. Having the opportunity to chat with so many hosts as a movie critic and expert has been so much fun – and in particular, with Jon, I have shared so many laughs. All of the interviews we’ve done have also been great. I’m really proud of the work that’s come out of the segment.

The Reel Report has opened so many doors for me, and this labour of love has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and do more stuff on air, especially as I continue to grow as a journalist.

I appreciate all the support and the messages/tweets/etc. that everyone always sends me. I encourage you to continue to engage with me online. I always love to read your movie-related tweets.

The good news is I’m going to be part of a new initiative on The Jon McComb Show, to air in the same slot. I’m excited to join Jon McComb, Niki Reitmayer and Tim Dickert every Friday morning, and you’ll have a good sense of what exactly this thing is once we air our inaugural episode.

I’ll continue to podcast each week, and continue to blog, so be sure to follow me here.

Again, so grateful for the opportunities at CKNW. Thanks for your support!

Cheers-
Ria
