News Talk 980 CKNW is excited to help families and children in need!

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to put this out there: on Wednesday, May 3, Niki Reitmayer and I will be working behind the counter, and possibly the drive-thru(!) at the Still Creek McDonald’s in Burnaby from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We’ll be joining the CKNW street team and other members of our Corus family (shout out to Global BC!) as we try to help raise funds for some 30,000 families across Canada who stay at Ronald McDonald houses while their children receive treatment at hospitals for various illnesses. Staying in these homes allows families to be together while seeking treatment; treatment is already scary enough if you don’t have your mom, dad, aunt, uncle, guardian, or those other important people in your life with you.

If you buy a hot McCafe beverage, a Big Mac, or a Happy Meal, one dollar from your purchase goes to charity. Almost every McDonald’s in Metro Vancouver is taking part, so if you can’t come out to Still Creek…hey! There are HUNDREDS of other options!
