Bit of a line-up change to the Close Encounters podcast!
Hey everyone!
It’s been a busy month or so, give or take. I have some blog posts queued up – and you’ll get to see those soon.
Part of the busy scheduling has included some personnel changes to the Close Encounters podcast. I have been incredibly appreciative of your support and look forward to more of that.
Shakiel Mahjouri will be leaving us to pursue other projects. I’m grateful to him for his time with us on the show.
BUT — fret not! We have a new host lined up. The one…the only…Jon Hall! Yay!
Jon is joining us from the CKNW newsroom and will be co-hosting with me weekly. A little bit about him: he and I were classmates at BCIT from 2013 to 2015 when we studied Broadcasting and Online Journalism together. You may have also heard his voice during the overnight and weekend newscasts on CKNW. It’s scary how much he knows, and his areas of expertise include (but are not limited to) tech, film, video gaming, photography, and, yes, believe it or not, cooking and baking. In fact, he worked in the baking and cooking industry for about a decade before going into radio. You want a mean biscotti? Go see Jon.
Jon is witty, funny, bright, and will bring a unique sense of humour to the show. So…welcome aboard, Jon!
We will have an episode up for you this week, and Shakiel’s last episode is expected to air on Friday, June 23. Jon’s first official episode is Friday, June 30.
See you all soon!
