My return to radio

Yep. It’s true. I’m back.

For me, 2018 has been a year of taking chances and saying ‘yes’ to the opportunities that come my way, and I have been so fortunate that every chance I have taken in 2018 has been enriching, fulfilling and incredibly educational.

I am bringing this mindset with me into January 2019 (and beyond) as I join the incredible team at News 1130, having accepted the position of Afternoon Drive Anchor. I know that I *absolutely* have big shoes to fill, and I am looking forward to meeting/seeing/getting to know everyone at the station! A big thank you to Charmaine de Silva and the team on Broadway and Ash for this opportunity to work with some impeccable journalists.

I also need to thank everyone at the BC SPCA. Everyone has been so kind, hardworking and supportive and I will be forever grateful for all the lessons I’ve learned working for and with them. And a big thank you to the animals I’ve met, too!

A shout out to my husband, our family, and a few of our closest friends for helping me through this process. My family and friends mean everything to me and while I’ve been all about taking chances, it is comforting to know your unit has your back no matter what.

Finally, to the listeners. I am absolutely looking forward to getting to know you and interacting with you — let’s do this!

I will be on air in early January, and if you’re not already following News 1130 on social media, make sure you visit their Twitter and Facebook pages and give this awesome crew a follow/like!

As you can imagine, it’s been a bit of a whirlwind week, so I’ll be back to blogging my regular content next week — that means no post this coming Sunday, December 23rd. I’ll be picking up where I left off on December 27th!

With gratitude,
Ria Renouf
